I’ve been lucky these past few weeks to meet my friends more often. Hardly do these times come by since we’re all busy with work and school, and we don’t live in the same town/city.
Call me crazy but I’m seeing a pattern in our meetings. Whenever we would get to see each other more often, one or two of my friends have just entered a new relationship. In short, one meeting apparently becomes the obligatory you’ve-got-to-meet-him/her night out, which actually gives birth to a series of meetings to further get to know (and test) the person a friend is dating.
Those who get to stand the fun torture of my friends end up to be keepers! Two of my friends are married and with children. I still remember how their partners were “subjected” to our own brand of humor and entertainment, especially for new people entering our circle. They were queasy at first, but they ended up knocking us off. We loved them back, of course.
The spotlight now is on two new guys. So far, they’ve been great. We actually think that these guys our friends would end up with. Another guy is bubbling up, but we still have to wait for her to tag him along and mingle with us.
And who knows, anytime this year, I might be the one bringing someone to the jury to everyone’s delight and surprise!
